De atelierschuur

Na een studie sociaal-culturele wetenschappen in Utrecht en een aantal jaren onderzoek in de gezondheidszorg heb ik mijn werkterrein verlegd. Naar tekenen & schilderen en naar het werken met glas. Hierbij gebruik en combineer ik verschillende technieken: glas-in-lood, Tiffany-techniek, warm glas en edelsmeden. Naar eigen ontwerp of volgens vrije interpretatie van een bestaand object of design. Art Nouveau en Art Deco zijn voor mij  twee inspirerende kunststromingen.  Voor het schilderen in olieverf, acryl of aquarel is de natuur mijn bron van inspiratie.

Het professioneel werken met glas begon in de binnenstad van Amsterdam eind jaren 80 in mijn winkel-atelier aan de Weteringschans met de naam Artiglas. Na 5 jaar actief te zijn geweest op Aruba en een lange periode in Drenthe, bevindt mijn atelier zich nu in het oude Wageningen.

After studying socio-cultural sciences at Utrecht University and having worked as a scientist in health care for some years, I decided to change my career and turn my attention to drawing & painting and working with glass. I use and combine various techniques: stained glass, Tiffany technique and glass fusing.  My own designs or according to a free interpretation of existing objects or design, for example, of Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Comfort Tiffany or Toulouse Lautrec. Art Nouveau and Art Deco are two inspiring artistic trends for me. For painting with oil, watercolours or acrylic paint, nature provides a source of inspiration.

I started working professionally with glass in my (work)shop Artiglas  in the centre of Amsterdam in the late 1980s. After a number of years being active in Aruba (Netherlands Antilles) and Drenthe my workshop has been moved to Wageningen. A few months per year I live in Saint Saud Lacoussière in the Perigord Vert in France.

Après un étude sciences socio-culturelles et dix ans de traveaux scientifiques dans le domaine des soins de santé, j’ai décidé de changer mon champ d’activité. En ce moment je peins les tableaux  à l’huile, à l’eau et à acrylique. Aussi je fais les verres assemblés en vitraux et les lampes & miroirs d’un style classique de chez Tiffany.
